www.PracticalEthics.net
Professor
Bill Lynn presents Practical Ethics, a website committed to
the well-being of people, animals and nature.
Practical Ethics is many things at the same time: It
is the website of William S. Lynn (Bill); it is an
independent ethics practice serving the public and
private sectors; it is a global learning community of
ethics advisors and organizations with a values-centered
mission; it is a theory and method for making ethics
relevant in the real world. Most importantly,
Practical Ethics is passionately committed to a just world
that values and defends the entire community of life.

status of animals in public policy and promotes the study of
human-animal relationships. ASI recently

and the Institute for Animals and Society (www.animalsandsociety.org).
www.ALDF.org Since

Ethologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
(EETA) was founded by Marc
Bekoff and Jane Goodall, two scientists who have contributed
enormously to a new understanding of ethology--the study of
animal behavior and culture. Together with a small group of
others, like Gordon Burghardt and Collin Allen, they are
challenging the reductive and amoral temper of positivist
animal behaviorism. The purpose of EETA is "to develop and
to maintain the highest of ethical standards in comparative
ethological research that is conducted in the field and in
the laboratory. Furthermore, [the founders] wish to use the
latest developments from research in cognitive ethology and
on animal sentience to inform discussion and debate about
the practical implications of available data and for the
ongoing development of policy. Scientists, non-scientists,
teachers, and students are most welcomed to join."
